DaisychainThe short version: your moments stay on your device. Daisychain doesn't send your journal to our servers, and we can't read, analyze, or sell it. The only copy that ever leaves your phone is the backup you choose to keep in your own iCloud.
Our approach
Daisychain is built so that your private life stays private. Everything you create — your relationships, moments, notes, photos, videos and voice recordings — is stored locally on your device. We designed the app to need as little of your information as possible, and to never require an account with us.
What stays on your device
The content you create in Daisychain lives only on your device unless you back it up through iCloud. This includes:
- The people and pets in your circle, and the relationship types you define
- Moments — text, voice recordings, photos and videos
- Emotions, dates, notes and any custom labels you add
- Insights, which are computed on your device from your own data
What we don't collect
We do not collect, receive, or store the contents of your journal. We do not read your moments, build a profile of you, or use your data to train anything. We do not sell or share your personal content with anyone, ever.
Anonymous usage analytics
To understand which features are used and keep the app reliable, Daisychain sends a small set of anonymous usage signals — for example, that a moment was created, never what it contains — to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. These signals are keyed to a one-way hashed device identifier, are not linked to your identity, and are never used for tracking or advertising. Your journal content is never part of them.
iCloud backup & sync
If you enable backup or sync, your journal is stored in and synchronized through your personal iCloud account, which is governed by Apple's privacy terms. This data travels between your own devices and Apple's iCloud — it does not pass through Daisychain's servers, and we have no access to it.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation that a purchase or trial is active so we can unlock the app, but we never see your payment details. Billing is managed entirely by Apple under your Apple ID.
We use RevenueCat to keep track of purchase state. RevenueCat receives your App Store purchase receipt and an anonymous app-generated identifier so your membership can be validated and restored across reinstalls — never your name, your Apple ID, or your journal content.
Device security
You can require Face ID or your device passcode to open Daisychain. This lock is enforced on your device and adds a layer of protection if your phone is lost or shared.
Children
Daisychain is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll revise the date above and, for meaningful changes, let you know in the app. Because your data lives on your device, changes here will never retroactively expose anything you've already created.
